First Mayor of Sunrise Beach 1973-1976

Sunrise Beach Village is one of the first lakefront subdivisions on Lake Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ), is located between Marble Falls and Llano in Llano County.

It was founded in 1958 by developer David Miller of San Antonio as a resort and retirement center and given the name Sunrise Beach. In 1966 the community had recreational facilities, motels, restaurants, and businesses concerned with building trades. By 1970 the estimated population had risen to 800 and peaked at 1,025 in the mid-1970s. The community was incorporated shortly thereafter, and the name was later changed to Sunrise Beach Village. In 1990 the population was 497. The population reached 704 in 2000. As of the 2020 United States census, there were 739 people, 445 households and 319 families residing in the city. The City of Sunrise Beach Village had a population of 744 as of July 1, 2023. The primary coordinate point for Sunrise Beach Village is located at latitude 30.5996 and longitude -98.41 in Llano County. The formal boundaries for the City of Sunrise Beach Village encompass a land area of 1.69 sq. miles and a water area of 0.6 sq. miles. Llano County is in the Central time zone (GMT -6).

The City of Sunrise Beach Village has a C1 Census Class Code which indicates an active incorporated place that does not serve as a county subdivision equivalent. It also has a Functional Status Code of “A” which identifies an active government providing primary general-purpose functions.
