Chief of Police
Hi! My name is Laurie Brock and I am the Chief of Police for the City of Sunrise Beach Village. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1999. I then spent most of my Law Enforcement career with Llano County Sheriff’s Department – started as a Deputy on patrol and worked up to Patrol Sergeant. I gained valuable years of experience as Investigator for the Sheriff’s Department where I specialized in crimes against children and crimes against persons.
I first started working part-time at the Sunrise Beach Police Department in 2008 while working full-time for the Sheriff’s Department. During that time, I got to know the City of Sunrise Beach and its citizens very well. In 2014, I officially became the Chief of Police for Sunrise Beach Police Department.
I believe in being an open and transparent department. Our department focuses on community policing. This is accomplished by talking with citizens and interacting with them regularly to know what is going on in the city. Our department is also heavily focused on patrol. That means officers are driving the streets to be proactive and to deter crime. I pride myself on great communication and employ an open-door policy for both citizens and officers.
