Distinguished Service Recipient

On May 28, the City had the privilege of honoring our own Police Chief, Laurie Brock. An award initiated by her sworn staff, and enthusiastically supported by the Mayor, Chief Brock was honored as a progressive, compassionate, and staunch defender of law and order. Laurie is well known throughout Llano County and in the greater law enforcement community as an ethical public servant with extremely high standards, which she imparts to her command and sworn staff. Her unwavering dedication to our citizens, and commitment to community policing, has been recognized and lauded by many members of our City, and rightfully so. Please join me in congratulating Chief Brock on her service.

Medevac Helicopter Landing Pad

WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN!
That’s how we got a Medevac Helicopter Landing Pad for the south end of Sunrise Beach!

The City of Sunrise Beach Parks Committee identified a need for a medevac pad in Sandy Park to serve the citizens at the south end of the City.

The SBVFD applied for and were awarded a grant of $19,857 from LCRA.

The City of Sunrise Beach approved the use of the location in Sandy Park.

Matching funds for the project will come from the City of Sunrise Beach, Llano County ESD #5, and the SBVFD.
Our thanks go to John Michael Pike of 4P Land Management for doing a great job on the concrete pad. Lights, signage and painting will follow to complete the project.

Test Hole Drilling

Terracon will be drilling test holes in the City of Sunset Beach Village in the near future (possibly next week). These test holes will be used to further the water project. Attached, you will find a Google Earth KMZ file, an aerial image, and Texas 811 locate tickets for each planned drilling location. We have a total of nine boring locations labeled B1 through B9. The attached Map shows the drilling locations.
